End of Term Newsletter

End of Term Newsletter: Friday 19th December 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we reach the end of another school term, we take a moment to reflect with pride and gratitude. Although this has been the longest term of the year, it seems to have flown by. We could not be prouder of our children for all that they have achieved and the progress they continue to make.

Everything we do at St Michael’s is guided by our Journeying Together with Christ vision, which continues to shape our decisions and direction as a school community.

Love
At St Michael’s, we remind our children daily of our high expectations: to treat one another with kindness, to value every member of our community and to show forgiveness in all that we do. We treasure the time we spend reflecting and worshipping together, helping our children to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, others and God’s world. Visitors to our school frequently comment on how beautifully our children live out our school values and how much they are a credit to St Michael’s.

Integrity
Our children consistently set an excellent example to those around them, representing our school with the utmost respect - whether welcoming visitors or representing St Michael’s beyond the school gates. Our School Parliament has continued to develop this term, with children embracing new leadership roles. We have appointed a new student leadership team, including Head Boys and Head Girls, and our House Captains have shown outstanding responsibility by raising money for chosen charities. In addition, our Worship Committee, School Council, Play Leaders, Librarians and Reading Leaders have all engaged enthusiastically in their roles.

Creativity
We have seen some truly wonderful learning take place this term. From hands-on DT projects to imaginative writing, the children continue to make excellent progress. They have participated in experience days and workshops and have fully immersed themselves in a broad and balanced curriculum. At St Michael’s, our children learn far more than academic skills - they learn how to be kind, resourceful and inquisitive. We are nurturing young people who will grow into thoughtful and compassionate adults.

Resilience
This term has also seen many positive developments across the school. Our new lunchtime system has improved accessibility for families, while Class Dojo has strengthened communication between home and school. We are also delighted with recent improvements to our learning environment, including a fully refurbished ICT suite and enhanced working spaces.

We have been blessed with many enriching experiences this term - from Gladiators and dance workshops to beautiful Nativity performances. We are especially proud of how well our Reception children have settled into life at St Michael’s. They have embraced their new school with enthusiasm, wear their uniform with pride, and shone with confidence in their performances of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and The Noisy Nativity. All of our children have shone brightly in their roles across the Nativity performances and church services. Most recently, our Key Stage 2 children delivered outstanding Carol Services at the church. Their confidence, love and enthusiasm beautifully showcased St Michael’s at its very best.

We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful staff, who consistently go above and beyond for our children. We are truly blessed with such a dedicated and compassionate team. We would also like to thank you, our parents and carers, for your prayers, support and encouragement as we work in partnership to educate your children. Your continued support helps to make St Michael’s the special place that it is.

As we look ahead, may we continue to walk in faith together, guided by God’s love and strengthened by His peace. We pray that this Christmas break brings rest, renewal and many moments of blessing to every household.

It has been a genuine joy and privilege to work alongside you this term. Thank you for your continued support, kind Christmas wishes, cards and generous gifts - they are truly appreciated by all staff.

School will reopen for the new term on Monday 5th January 2026. Our school contact email will continue to be monitored throughout the holiday should you require any support.

Wishing you all a peaceful and joy-filled holiday.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given.”
