WEEKLY NEWSLETTER: FRIDAY 10TH OCTOBER
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you’ve had a lovely week. It has been a time of great celebration here at St Michael’s!
On Wednesday, we were delighted to welcome Nick Rudman from the Local Authority and Jenny McCutcheon, one of our IEB members, for a Quality Assurance Visit focusing on writing.
We were genuinely overwhelmed by the positivity and encouragement they shared. The journey that St Michael’s is on is a truly positive one, and it’s wonderful to see the dedication and progress of both staff and pupils being recognised.
It gives me great pleasure to share a short excerpt from their report:
“During the visit, there was a clear sense of purpose and positivity across the school. Pupils were seen working with focus, demonstrating engagement with their learning. Classrooms were calm, productive spaces where routines were well established.
The newly refurbished computer suite is a particularly positive addition to the learning environment. It offers a bright, modern space that supports digital literacy and curriculum enrichment.
Staff across the school demonstrated confidence in the leadership team. Conversations reflected a sense of trust and clarity in direction, particularly around the development of English. The leadership team’s visibility, responsiveness and strategic planning are contributing to a culture of collaboration and professional growth.”
We are incredibly proud of this feedback — it reflects the hard work, teamwork, and dedication of our entire school community.
This week, our Collective Worship focused on Harvest. The children explored what it means to harvest, why we celebrate it, and the importance of gratitude for the food we have. We are very much looking forward to celebrating our Harvest Festival next week! Today we celebrated all of our 'Stars of the Week' during our weekly celebration assembly. It was great to hear all about the wonderful things our children are doing in school and celebrating their achievements as a school family. A huge well done to all children who participated in week 2 of the Mottlesnatch series. Week 3 is now available for you to complete!
