Weekly Newsletter: Friday 13th March

Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been another busy and positive week in school, with pupils showing great enthusiasm in their learning. Across the classrooms, children have been exploring new ideas, working collaboratively and developing their skills with increasing confidence. It has been wonderful to see the determination and focus they bring to their work each day.
This week we also celebrated STEM Day, which was a fantastic success across the school. The children took part in a range of exciting activities designed to encourage curiosity, problem-solving and teamwork. A huge thank you to the parents and volunteers who gave their time to support the day - your involvement made a real difference and helped bring many of the activities to life. STEM subjects play an important role in preparing children for the future, helping them to develop the skills and ways of thinking that are highly valued in many careers. The pupils gained a great deal from the experience and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics in such engaging ways.
During Collective Worship this week, we were pleased to welcome Samson and Ellie from Braintree Baptist Church, who spoke to the children about the season of spring and the changes we begin to notice around us. Together we reflected on how the signs of new life in spring remind us of God’s creation and the hope and renewal that this time of year brings. The children thought about how we can show gratitude for the world around us and care for one another as part of God’s family.
This week’s pupil shoutout goes to Korey and Caleb in Year 1. During the Daily Mile, the boys noticed litter around the field and decided to collect it. By the end they had gathered a whole bag of litter ready to be recycled. Their kindness and care for our school environment is a wonderful example to others. Thank you, Korey and Caleb, for helping to keep our school such a positive place to learn and play.
We also enjoyed celebrating our Stars of the Week. These awards recognise the effort, perseverance and positive attitudes shown by pupils throughout the week. It is always lovely to acknowledge the hard work taking place across the school. We were also delighted to celebrate Lavinia, who has achieved success in swimming outside of school. If your child achieves something special beyond school, please do let us know so we can celebrate these achievements together.
Chapter 9 of The Mottlesnatch is attached and we encourage all children to take part. Each entry earns five house points, helping their house move closer to winning the House Cup.

As another busy week draws to a close, we would like to thank you for the ongoing encouragement and support you give to our school. The strong partnership between home and school makes a real difference to the children’s learning and wellbeing. We wish you all a pleasant and relaxing weekend and look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday, ready for another week of learning.
