Weekly Newsletter: Friday 17th April
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a truly lovely first week back, and it has been wonderful to welcome all of the children into school again. They have returned with such positive attitudes towards their learning, showing enthusiasm, focus, and a real eagerness to engage in all aspects of school life. The sunshine has certainly been an added bonus, lifting spirits and allowing us to enjoy time outdoors together. We were also pleased to welcome Mr Sharp back into school this week as he continues to support the transition of headship.
During Collective Worship, we were delighted to welcome Reverend James from St Michael’s Church. He spoke to the children about making good and bad decisions, using the story of Noah’s Ark to help illustrate this message. He reminded us that when God asked Noah to build the ark (Genesis 6–9), it may have seemed like a difficult and confusing instruction, yet Noah trusted and followed God’s guidance. Sometimes, when God says “no” to something, it can feel disappointing or unclear, but often it is part of a bigger plan that leads to something better. Just as God’s promise was revealed through the rainbow after the flood, we are encouraged to reflect on the many moments in our own lives where a “no” can lead to a greater “yes,” and to recognise the many blessings around us each day.
This week’s pupil shoutout goes to Tzion in Year 3. Tzion created a beautiful and thoughtful poster to help our children reflect on God’s love. He confidently shared his work during assembly, and it was even used by Reverend James as part of our worship. Well done, Tzion – you are a valued and inspiring member of our Worship Committee!
We are looking forward to celebrating our Stars of the Week next week after such a busy and productive start to the term.

As we reach the end of the week, we hope the coming days offer a chance to slow down, recharge, and enjoy special moments with loved ones. Thank you for your ongoing encouragement and partnership- it truly makes a difference as we continue to support and guide your children in their learning and development.
Just as God made a promise to Noah after the flood - placing a rainbow in the sky as a sign of hope and a future (Genesis 9:13) - we are reminded that even after challenging times, there is always reassurance and new beginnings ahead.
"I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." (Genesis 9:13)
Kind regards,
Mrs Louisa Sillett
