Journeying together with Christ

Weekly Newsletter: Friday 7th November

 Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been wonderful to welcome our children back to school for the second half of the Autumn Term. With the festive season fast approaching, we have an exciting and busy few weeks ahead!

Our school Facebook page is now live, with lots of exciting posts already available to view. Please do follow us using this link: St Michael’s Facebook Page. Join us in celebrating all the wonderful things happening across our school community.

This week, our collective worship focus was all about one of our core school values – Creativity. We explored what it means to show creativity in our daily lives. Many children spoke about expressing creativity through art, music, and writing, but we also reflected on how creativity can be shown in our actions – in how we think, problem-solve, and step outside our comfort zones. We also talked about the greatest example of creativity of all: when God created the world. His creation reminds us that we are all made in His image and gifted with the ability to be creative in our own unique ways. At St Michael’s, we are blessed to work alongside so many brilliant and creative minds. By using the many talents that God has given us, we show creativity in so many ways, every single day.

On Wednesday, Rachel joined us from St Michael’s Church and led a fantastic worship assembly. Continuing with our theme of creativity, Rachel spoke beautifully about fixing broken things and reminded the children that when we are “Journeying together with Christ,” it is important to show forgiveness, both to others and to ourselves.

Our singing worship was once again filled with joy and energy, with the children raising the roof in the school hall! A special thank you to 3E, who shared some wonderful BSL actions to Goodness of God - it’s quickly becoming a firm favourite across the school.

Congratulations to all of our Stars of the Week! It is such a joy to come together each week to celebrate the children’s successes. These assemblies provide a small glimpse into the incredible learning and hard work that goes on behind every classroom door. Well done, everyone!

Back by popular demand and looking better than ever - the next chapter in the much-loved Mottlesnatch series is here! Mottlesnatch and the Flicker of Hope continues the adventure, and we can’t wait to see what surprises this new story brings. Remember, every child who completes one of the story tasks will earn 5 dojo points for their house! The first chapter is attached - happy reading!

This week, we have continued to welcome prospective families to St Michael’s for our admissions tours. There is such a positive feeling in the air, and it’s heart-warming to hear that St Michael’s is becoming the first choice for so many local families and rightly so! We are so proud of our school, our children, and our wonderful community.

Next week is Week A on the timetable. Please also keep an eye on upcoming festive dates - there’s lots to look forward to!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and encouragement.

Warm regards,
Mrs Louisa Sillett
Head of School
