Weekly Newsletter: Thursday 23rd October
Dear Parents and Carers,
Unbelievably, we have reached the midway point of the autumn term - eight weeks of routines, learning, strengthening relationships, and fun! From gladiators to exploring different cultures, this half term has been packed with memories to add to the St Michael's journey.
This week, our assembly focus was all about our school value: Resilience. We spoke about the importance of showing resilience in school, and the children discussed how we need to be resilient when learning. We continue to remind our pupils that life is a learning journey, and mistakes show that we are learning something new. As long as we show resilience, creativity, integrity and, most importantly, love, we can achieve anything.
Congratulations to our 'Stars of the Week' and our half-termly 'Headteacher Award' winners. We are immensely proud of the effort our children put into every aspect of their learning, and we are looking forward to seeing them continue to flourish in both knowledge and experience. A huge well done also to all those who have taken part in the Mottlesnatch series - our final chapter is attached, so please do encourage your children to join in!
This half term has finished on a high, reflecting the dedication of not only our children but also our wider school community - our wonderful families! World Language Day saw countries from across the globe come together in the St Michael's hall to share cultural experiences. From Polish pickles to South African puddings, there was something for everyone. The Nigerian drums and Irish folk music added to the fantastic atmosphere as the children immersed themselves in knowledge (and food!). A huge thank you must go to Madame B for her dedication in organising and running World Language Day. The same thanks extend to our incredible families, who gave their time and energy to enrich these experiences for our children. The smell of delicious food filling the hall was incredible - we were truly overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone involved. Thank you.
We continue to welcome prospective families to St Michael's for a number of admission tours. The overwhelming positivity we receive on each visit is a true testament to the wonderful things happening within our school. We are delighted that St Michael's is becoming the first-choice school for so many families.
